History: The hotel began its life on July 3, 1929 under the name Hotel Pennsylvania. Its opening was a big evening dinner during which the mayor of the time Mr. Houde sang "A la claire fontaine". At the time, owner M Irwin N Rollman presented guests with an automatic golf stroke calculator. With its modern facilities and its 100 (!) Rooms, it was well received in this French quarter, alive with Montreal life at the turn of the century.
The vaulted room in the basement also has its share of notoriety. There was a time when she was a bar called La Cave des Moines. She was the host of several drunken evenings and even union meetings in the 1970s.
Free in-room Wi-Fi is available.
Each bright and simply furnished room at Hotel St-Denis includes cable TV and a work desk. A coffee maker and hairdryer are provided.
The front desk at this Montreal hotel is open 24 hours a day. Heated indoor parking is available.
The Berri-UQAM subway station is just one block from the St-Denis Hotel. The historic St-Denis Theater is less than 5 minutes walk from the property.
